Heavy winds in Fairfield cause authorities to assist duck hunters stranded in kayak

FAIRFIELD — Heavy winds created a problem for two duck hunters in Fairfield this morning.

Authorities responded to Fairfield Pond to assist the hunters who had called for help after becoming stranded in their hunting kayak at around 11:00 a.m. today.

State police personnel were able to spot the hunters and maintained visual contact with them while Warden Snyder approached them in a kayak.

Police say Warden Snyder was able to safely escort the hunters back to shore without incident.
