Car loses brakes, strikes house in St. Johnsbury

ST. JOHNSBURY — A car crashed into a home in St. Johnsbury this morning.

Police responded to a single-vehicle crash into a residence located at 1536 Memorial Drive, at around 11:45 a.m.

The driver, identified as Rocklyn Rivers, 66, of St. Johnsbury, was traveling on Depot Hill towards the intersection of Memorial Drive, before losing brakes on the vehicle.

Rivers then crossed Memorial Drive and struck a house.

Police say nobody was home at the time.

Rivers suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash, police say.
