LYNDON — Lyndon Institute Director of Athletics and Activities Eric Berry recently announced the hiring of Dan Nolan, LI Class of ‘95, as their head football coach.

“We are happy to welcome Dan back to the Lyndon Institute family,” Berry said. “His previous tenure as head coach at LI was highly successful, positively influencing our student-athletes on and off the field, and his background working at one of the highest levels of high school football in the country is extremely impressive.”

Prior to his return to LI, Dan was the running backs and strength and conditioning coach at Robert E. Lee High School in Midland, Texas, home of one of the high schools featured in the film Friday Night Lights.

He has seventeen years of service on the field, with seven years as a head coach and ten years as an assistant.

He is co-author of The Mental Game of Football with the nationally-known motivational speaker Brian Cain.

“As an alumnus of LI, I could not be happier to be returning home and to have the opportunity to rebuild the football program,” said Nolan. “I would like to thank everyone who passed along words of support and consideration during this process. We will build a team you can be proud of.”
