Driver injured after hit by state trooper in Bradford

BRADFORD — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash in Bradford on Saturday.

The crash took place at the intersection of Vermont Route 25 and US Route 5 at around 12:15 p.m.

According to the report, Trooper Jason Haley, 38, of Bradford, was headed south on Route 5 and attempted to make a right-hand turn onto Vermont Route 25, when he collided with a vehicle driven by Daniel Lamphere, 62, of Bath, New Hampshire.

Police say Haley was responding to an emergency call for service with blue lights and a siren activated.

Following an investigation, police say Haley failed to maneuver the right-hand turn and collided with Lamphere head-on in the eastbound turning lane of Vermont Route 25.

Police say Haley was not injured and Lamphere was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.

No other information regarding Lamphere’s injuries is available at this time.

Lamphere’s vehicle was towed from the scene.

Bradford FD also responded to assist with scene safety and traffic control.
