LUNENBURG — Police say a house in Lunenburg was destroyed by fire last Thursday.
The fire broke out at a residence on River Road at around 11:00 p.m.
Authorities say the house was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived.
The homeowner, Daniel Lane, 59, of Lunenburg, was inside the home at the time of the fire and told police that he saw flames where the woodstove pipe exited the roof.
He was able to get out safely, but the home is considered a total loss.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation and is currently classified as undetermined.
Police say a nearby neighbor noticed the fire and called 911.
