ST. JOHNSBURY — A 25-year-old Hardwick man is facing multiple charges after a single-vehicle rollover crash in St. Johnsbury yesterday.

Police responded to the crash at the intersection of the I-91 off-ramp and Hospital Drive at around 9:30 a.m.

A 1996 Toyota Tacoma, driven by Robert Chaplin, failed to stop for a stop sign at the bottom of the off-ramp, police say.

Chaplin continued through the intersection with Hospital Drive and hit a guardrail before rolling the vehicle.

Police say Chaplin was driving the vehicle without an ignition interlock device as required by the DMV.

He was cited to appear in court on March 2 to answer charges of negligent operation, DLS-C, and violation of conditions of release.

He was ticketed for no insurance, no registration, and defective equipment.
