SHEFFIELD — A 32-year-old Irasburg man was arrested on multiple charges following an incident in Sheffield yesterday.
Police responded to an assault reported on Sheffield Square Road at around 8:23 p.m.
According to the police report, Timothy Colby assaulted an individual at a home before fleeing.
Police say that Colby had stolen the victim’s phone to prevent them from calling for help.
When police arrived at Colby’s home in Irasburg, they say he resisted arrest before being taken into custody.
He is facing multiple charges which include 1st degree aggravated domestic assault, domestic assault, grand larceny, interference with access to emergency services, and resisting arrest.
He was subsequently held without bail by Vermont Probation and Parole and was cited to appear in court today.
