Police: Lyndon man charged with attempting to elude, careless and negligent operation

St. JOHNSBURY — A 21-year-old Lyndon man is facing charges after police say he eluded police during a traffic stop.

Yesterday at around 4:55 p.m., police attempted to stop a vehicle traveling in excess of the posted speed limit on U.S Route 2 in the area of the Danville/St. Johnsbury town line.

Police say the vehicle failed to stop and their pursuit was discontinued as the vehicle entered the village of St. Johnsbury.

Later, police say they located a vehicle that matched the description of the car involved in the pursuit headed north on Route 5 towards Lyndonville.

They initiated a traffic stop on U.S Route 5 near Hoagies.

Police identified the driver as Jaydon Caron, 21 of Lyndon, and he was issued a citation to appear in Caledonia County Court to answer for the charges of attempting to elude and careless and negligent operation.

Police identified the passenger of the vehicle as 26-year-old Nicholas Boivin, who was taken into custody on a warrant.
