Police: Woman tried to pass stolen check at St. Johnsbury bank, fraud in White River

ST. JOHNSBURY — Police are looking for a woman who tried to pass a stolen check at a bank in St. Johnsbury.

The incident took place on Monday at the Community Bank NA, located on Portland Sreet.

Police say this is not the first attempt the suspects have made, even using a driver’s license that was reported stolen as well.

Police believe that the woman involved attempted fraud at a bank in White River and attempted to take money out of an account that was not her own.

She was seen driving the same caravan.

The vehicle used is Dodge Caravan, white in color, and bearing stolen Vermont plates.
