Woman arrested on warrant in Ryegate, facing charges of assault on law enforcement

RYEGATE — A 35-year-old woman was arrested on multiple charges following an incident in Ryegate yesterday.

Police say a domestic disturbance was reported at a home at around 8:56 p.m.

According to the report, one of the parties involved, identified as Kristine Gowdy, of Granville, had a warrant for her arrest.

While attempting to take Gowdy into custody, police say she struck an officer, resisted arrest, and intentionally damaged a trooper’s uniform items.

She had also assaulted a household member earlier in the evening, police say.

She was taken into custody and later lodged on the outstanding warrant.

She is facing multiple charges which include first degree aggravated domestic assault, assault on law enforcement, resisting arrest, and unlawful mischief.
