4-year-old injured in ATV crash in Franklin

FRANKLIN — Police responded to an ATV crash involving a child in Franklin yesterday.

The crash took place on private land on Swamp Road at around 2:40 p.m.

According to the report, Dillon Stanhope, 26, was utilizing the motocross track with his ATV.

He was alone on the track and the 4 year old was advised to stay on the grass.

At some point, the child entered onto the track and started to travel up an incline as Stanhope was traveling in the opposite direction.

There was no line of sight or visibility for Stanhope until he travelled over the crest of the hill.

Police say the 2 ATVs crashed head-on with one another.

The 4 year old was transported to Northwest Medical Center then to UVM Medical Center.

Police are still investigating this crash.
