Driver charged with excessive speeding and negligent operation on I-89, Georgia

GEORGIA — An 18-year-old South Burlington man is facing charges following an incident in Georgia on Friday.

Police say they clocked a Volkswagen Golf via radar traveling north on I-89 at 119 miles-per-hour, which is 54 miles-per-hour over the posted speed limit.

The driver was identified as Seth Wilbur.

Wilbur was processed at the St. Albans barracks where he was issued a citation to appear in court for the offenses of excessive speed and negligent operation.
