BAKERSFIELD — Police say a fire broke out in Bakersfield on Monday.
The fire took place at a camp located off Belvedere Mountain Road at around 3:45 p.m.
Firefighters found the camp fully engulfed in flames when they arrived.
Police say due to the location of the camp and road conditions, additional resources were called to aid in the suppression of the fire.
The Vermont Department of Public Safety Fire Investigation Unit was contacted and asked to conduct an origin and cause an examination of the fire scene, police say.
Authorities examined the scene yesterday but were unable to find the origin and cause of the fire due to the total consumption of the building.
The camp is a total loss valued at approximately $61,000.
Police say the camp was empty at the time of the fire and there were no reported injuries associated with the suppression or investigation of the fire.
Anyone with information about this fire is being asked to contact the VT State Police at (802)524-5993.
