Head-on collision with injures temporarily closes road in Fairfield

FAIRFIELD — Police say a road was closed after a head-on collision with injuries in Fairfield yesterday.

The two-vehicle crash took place on Vermont Route 36 near Cross Road at around 8:00 a.m.

An 18-year-old driver from Fairfield was entrapped after his vehicle overturned.

Police say he was able to climb through a window.

According to the police report, Morgan Gervais, 22, of Enosburg, was headed west and the young driver was headed east.

At one point the 18-year-old driver crossed over the centerline and caused the head-on collision with Gervais.

Police say both vehicles went off the road, and one car overturned and hit a telephone pole.

Both were transported to Northwest Medical Center for injuries.

Vermont Route 36 was temporarily closed due to the crash.
