ST. ALBANS — A 39-year-old man was arrested for violation of conditions of release following an incident in St. Albans this morning.

Police say they initiated a motor vehicle stop southbound on I-89 at around 7:40 a.m.

A passenger in the vehicle was identified as Todd Bonyea.

Bonyea had active conditions of release in regards to a 24-hour curfew, with the exception of emergency medical services.

Police say he claimed to be going to UVM Medical Center for an illness.

According to the report, he was out on conditions for multiple charges including heroin trafficking and cocaine possession.

Following an investigation, police say that he had not gone to the hospital, but had received a ride to Shelburne.

Officers later found Bonyea at The Cadillac Motel and arrested him without incident for violation of conditions of release.

He was flash cited and scheduled to appear at court today.
