ALBURGH — Police say they are still searching for a 52-year-old NewYork man who went missing yesterday in Lake Champlain.

Police say search efforts resumed this morning for the man who disappeared after diving off a boat into Lake Champlain near Alburgh Dunes State Park in the evening hours.

Multiple agencies are participating in today’s recovery effort including the Vermont State Scuba Team, which is deploying sonar technology in an attempt to locate the victim’s body, police say.

Police identified the missing man as Dennis Rabideau, of Mooers Forks, New York.

According to the report, Rabideau was with four other adults on a boat that departed yesterday afternoon from Chazy, New York.

When the boat was near Alburgh Dunes State Park, Rabideau jumped into the water to go swimming.

Windy conditions pushed the boat away from Rabideau, and he was unable to return to the vessel.
