ST. ALBANS — Police are looking for a man with an active warrant they say fled after an incident at a local apartment complex earlier in the week.

Authorities responded to 304 South Main Street for the report of a male with a warrant standing outside the apartment complex.

The man was identified as Andrew S. Brace, of St. Albans.

Officers responded to the apartment and say they contacted Brace, but he fled on foot into one of the apartments.

“As he ran into the apartment Andrew yelled, “yo get the gun!” St. Albans Police terminated foot pursuit and set up a cordon around the apartment,” a statement issued by police reads.

Police subsequently waited for more officers to arrive on the scene and eventually cleared the residence.

Brace was not located inside the apartment.

Police say he fled out the back of the apartment just before officers were able to secure the rear of the apartment.

He is still at large and has an active arrest warrant as he is on escape status from the Department of Probation and Parole.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact the St. Albans Police Department.
