Police: St. Albans man cited after admitting he was racing another car on I-89

MILTON — A 20-year-old St. Albans man was cited for negligent operation and reckless endangerment yesterday.

Police say they were conducting traffic enforcement on I-89 in Milton when a trooper noticed a vehicle headed south traveling at 107 miles-per-hour in the posted 65 miles-per-hour zone.

Police say the driver, identified as Jared L. Gaudette, admitted he was racing another car.

Gaudette was cited to appear in court on December 10 to answer to negligent operation as well as reckless endangerment charges, as he had two passengers inside his vehicle.

He was issued a civil ticket that carries a fine of $627.

The incident took place at around 2:54 p.m.
