ST. ALBANS — Police say that a St. Albans man is being charged with first-degree murder after an incident on Thorpe Avenue early this morning.
Police responded to the scene at around 5:00 a.m. after being notified by the suspect, identified as 44-year-old Rodney Lesperance, that he had stabbed someone.
According to a release issued by police, the victim suffered multiple stab wounds and was hardly breathing when they arrived.
Lesperance told officers on scene that he had stabbed his roommate, and was taken into custody, police say.
He is being held on $150,000 bail.
The victim was ultimately transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center.
There is no update yet as to his condition.
