Police: Swanton man arrested after threatening someone with a handgun

SWANTON — A 49-year-old man was arrested for aggravated assault following an incident in Swanton on Saturday.

Police were notified of a dispute on North River Street at around 3:38 p.m.

According to police, Joseph Phillips of Swanton committed the crime of aggravated assault by threatening Tyler Honsinger with a Ruger 380 ICP.

Police arrested Phillips and transported him to the St. Albans barracks for processing.

After processing, he was released on a citation to appear in court today to answer the charge.

Police say he was released on conditions.
