COLCHESTER — A 33-year-old St. Albans man was arrested for his third DUI following an incident in Colchester yesterday.
Police say they initiated a traffic stop on I-89 north at around 8:59 p.m.
Due to potential risk factors, a high-risk traffic stop was initiated with the assistance of Colchester and the Milton Police Department.
Police say the northbound lanes were closed for nearly 5 minutes while law enforcement detained the driver, identified as Kevin Douglas.
Following an investigation, police allege Douglas was under the influence of alcohol.
He was arrested and transported to the Williston State Police barracks for processing.
He was released with a citation to appear in court for the offense of DUI #3.
