SWANTON — A 32-year old St. Albans man was arrested for DUI, possession of regulated drugs and marijuana yesterday.

Police say they stopped Scott McWilliams for a motor vehicle violation on County Road in Swanton at around 6:50 p.m.

Police made contact with McWilliams, and suspected that he was driving his vehicle under the influence of drugs.

“Subsequent investigation revealed that McWilliams was in fact under the influence of drugs at the time of operation,” a statement issued by trooper Conte reads.

Police say he was also found to be in possession of regulated drugs without a prescription and over two ounces of marijuana.

Police arrested McWilliams and brought to the St. Albans State Police barracks for processing.

He was lodged at the Northwest State Correctional Facility due to violating a current set of conditions of parole.
