ST. ALBANS — A 27-year-old Swanton man is facing multiple charges following an incident on Monday.

Police say they initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as Danny L. Bouchard Jr.

During the course of the stop, police say they found that Bouchard was in violation of court-mandated conditions of release related to curfew.

Police say Bouchard fled on foot and fought with them when they attempted to arrest him.

“During the course of his resistance and attempted flight Bouchard was able to grab one of the officer’s weapons and attempted to disarm them,” a statement issued by the St. Albans Police Department reads.

Bouchard is facing charges of violation of conditions of release, resisting arrest, hindering public officers, assault of protected professional driving, and under the influence.

Police arrested Bouchard and lodged him at the Northwest State Correctional Facility.
