SWANTON — A Swanton man is facing DUI drug charges after an incident on I-89 this morning.

Police say they were dispatched to a call that a Silver Acura MDX was driving erratically and drove off of the road and into a ditch on I-89.

The caller reported the driver stopped at the I-89 rest area at mile-marker 34.

Police say a trooper observed a vehicle that matched the description of the reported vehicle and had front and side damage with airbag deployment.

The driver was identified as Kyle A. LaBelle, 32, of Swanton.

Police say while speaking with troopers, LaBelle was suspected of being under the influence of drugs.

He was arrested for suspicion of DUI drugs and was transported to the Vermont State Police Royalton Barracks and processed.

Police say LaBelle submitted to an evidentiary blood test that was drawn at Gifford Medical Center.

LaBelle was cited and released to appear in court to answer to the charges.
