Swanton man wanted for kidnapping, holding victim captive for over a month

SWANTON — Authorities are looking for a Swanton man accused of assaulting and holding a woman against her will for over a month.

Police say 31-year-old Kevin Daskalides is actively avoiding capture following an investigation that began this afternoon.

At around 3:00 p.m. police responded to Homestead Acres in Swanton, for a possible domestic assault that was called in.

A witness reported a male was seen dragging a female back into the residence.

Troopers responded to the scene and were able to bring the victim to safety and provide medical support.

The victim told police that she had been held against her will for more than a month and repeatedly assaulted.

Police say the victim sustained various injuries over this time.

The investigation revealed that Daskalides committed several offenses.

He is facing charges of aggravated domestic assault, kidnapping, reckless endangerment, interference with access to emergency services.

Investigators are seeking his whereabouts and ask anyone with information to call VSP St. Albans at 524-5993.
