Turkeys in road to blame for single-vehicle crash in Richford

RICHFORD — A 46-year-old Sheldon man was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Richford yesterday.

The crash took place on Jay Road at around 7:30 a.m.

The driver, Robert Barton, told police that he went off the road attempting to avoid turkeys in the road.

Barton ended up hitting a utility pole.

Police say nobody was injured in this crash.

Vermont Electric Co-op and Comcast were on scene to replace and repair the equipment that had been damaged during the crash.
