Two hunting shacks in Sheldon destroyed in fire

SHELDON — The Sheldon Fire Department was dispatched to a report of two hunting shacks on fire near 3752 East Sheldon Road yesterday, at around 7:30 p.m.

The fire department arrived to find two hunting blinds burnt to the ground.

The owner of the blinds, identified as Stephen Harrness, discovered the fire while driving by the area.

Sheldon Fire Chief Rick Piaseczny requested the assistance of investigators to determine the origin and cause of these fires.

Investigators responded to the scene today where they took photographs and collected evidence from both fire scenes.

Both structures were completely destroyed by the fire.

Damage is estimated to be in access of $1,300.
