Two men impersonating game wardens strangle, point gun at victim in Highgate

HIGHGATE — Police are seeking the public’s help in locating two men involved in a bizarre incident in Highgate early this morning.

Authorities were notified that a victim on Lamkin Street had been woken up by two men impersonating Vermont Fish & Game Officers at around 3:39 a.m.

Police say the two men assaulted the homeowner to include strangulation and pointing a firearm at him.

They were both wearing dark jackets with camouflage pants and face masks, police say.

State Police are requesting assistance with any information regarding the identification of these two men and are encouraged to contact the St. Albans barracks at 802-524-5993.
