Witnesses track down driver after hit-and-run in Sheldon

SHELDON — Police say a 19-year-old Fairfield man failed to stop following a crash in Sheldon on Saturday.

The two-vehicle crash took place on Route 105 at around 11:20 a.m.

Police say that witnesses to the crash were able to locate the fleeing driver on the rail trail when they arrived.

Police identified the driver and he admitted that he left the scene of the crash.

State police said in a statement regarding the incident that they want to remind the public if you are involved in a crash with injury or property damage you must provide information to the other parties and law enforcement.
