Driver charged with DUI, excessive speeding in Johnson

JOHNSON — A 23-year-old man was arrested following an incident in Johnson on Friday.

Police say they initiated a traffic stop for a vehicle traveling at 85 miles-per-hour in a 50 miles-per-hour zone on Route 100C at around 8:52 p.m.

The driver, Gavin Judd, of Johnson, showed signs of impairment, police say.

Following an investigation, police found that Judd was under the influence of alcohol.

He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morristown Police Department for processing.

He was later released with a citation to appear before the court for DUI #1 and excessive speed.
