NEW HAVEN — A 59-year-old Hyde Park man was arrested for his second DUI, following an incident in New Haven yesterday.
Police responded to a crash that took place on U.S. Route 7 at around 6:33 p.m.
The driver was identified as Carl F. Wrighton.
Police say Wrighton failed to stop at a posted stop sign located at the intersection of River Road and U.S. Route 7.
Wrighton struck another vehicle traveling south on U.S. Route 7.
Nobody was injured in the crash.
While speaking with Wrighton, police say they detected signs of impairment.
He was screened for DUI and subsequently placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI #2 and negligent operation.
He was transported to the Vergennes Police Department for processing and later released with a citation to appear in court at a later date.
