WATERVILLE — A 50-year-old man from Waterville was arrested for possession of child pornography, promoting a recording of sexual conduct, and voyeurism yesterday.

Authorities say they received information about a juvenile victim that was possibly being recorded in a home by hidden video cameras.

The Vermont State Police initiated an investigation into the report.

A search warrant was sought and obtained for the home of Robert Chausse, at 556 Vermont Route 109 in Waterville.

On January 15, police say the search warrant was executed at his home by members of the State police, Vermont Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children task force, Stowe Police, and Morristown Police.

Authorities seized several items during the search warrant.

Upon forensic examination of these items, police say multiple images/videos of child pornography and child exploitation were located.

“Through the investigation and forensic exams, police found that there was probable cause these images/videos were possessed by Chausse,” a statement issued by Detective Trooper Mike Filipek reads.

Police took Chausse into custody yesterday and issued him a citation to appear in court on February 26.

Police are still investigating this case and anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Trooper Michael Filipek at 802-878-7111.
