JERICHO — A 27-year-old Jeffersonville man was arrested for DUI-refusal and resisting arrest following an incident in Jericho on Friday.

Police say they observed a vehicle traveling 53 miles-per-hour in a 35 miles-per-hour zone and conducted a traffic stop at around 8:27 p.m.

The driver was identified as Brian Haggerty-Perraul.

During the stop, police say they observed signs of impairment and asked Haggerty-Perraul to exit the vehicle.

According to the report, he refused to comply with their orders.

Police say they were forced to physically extract Haggerty-Perraul from the vehicle during which time he resisted their efforts.

He was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI and resisting arrest and he was transported to the Williston State Police barracks for processing.

He was cited to appear in court on January 16 to answer the charges.
