WESTMINSTER — Two residents of Johnson were arrested on multiple charges after a crash in Westminster yesterday.

The single-vehicle crash took place on Interstate 91 south when a vehicle hit the guardrail at around 12:29 p.m.

Following an investigation, it was found that the driver, Melissa A. George, 32, and her passenger, Joseph A. Peets, 35, were in possession of fentanyl.

Police say Peets also provided a false name to law enforcement in an attempt to conceal his identity.

He had an active warrant for his arrest out of Washington County.

Police arrested both Peets and George and transported them to the State Police barracks for processing.

There may be more charges pending the outcome of an application for a search warrant, police say.
