STOWE — Police are investigating the death of a skier that is believed to have gone out of bounds at the Stowe Mountain Resort on Saturday.
Two skiers were reported off the trail at Stowe Mountain Resort at around 6:36 p.m.
They were lost and one had fallen off a cliff and injured, police say.
A search for the skiers was organized.
After a search lasting over two hours, they were located.
One of the skiers, a 36-year-old man from Connecticut, was found dead at the base of a cliff.
The other skier was a 35-year-old man also from Connecticut, who was found to be uninjured and assisted out of the woods by rescue personnel.
Both were reported to be avid skiers who were familiar with the Stowe Mountain Resort.
The names of the involved parties are being withheld pending notification of the victim’s family.
