Stowe man facing DUI charge after ATV crash

HUNTINGTON — A 23-year-old man from Stowe was processed for a second DUI following an ATV crash with injuries in Huntington early Sunday morning.

Police were notified of the crash which took place on Bert White Road, at around 12:09 a.m.

According to the police report, Evan Whitaker was driving an ATV when he lost control of the vehicle.

The ATV rolled, throwing Whitaker from it.

Whitaker was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police say.

Police say Whitaker was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

He was processed for driving under the influence #2 at the University of Vermont Emergency Department where he was also treated for what police describe as “non-life threatening injuries.”

State police responded to the scene along with Richmond Rescue and Huntington Fire.
