Swanton man facing numerous charges, arrested 3 days after release

ST. ALBANS — A 28-year-old Swanton man was arrested on multiple charges after a police chase in St. Albans on Monday.

Police say they observed two suspicious males dressed in dark clothing with black hoodies and face masks in the area of the Econo Lodge, on South Main Street at around 10:33 p.m.

When the males spotted the police they fled on foot traveling in separate directions.

Police say they were able to track one of the suspects to the rear of 306 South Main Street, where they caught up to him hiding under a vehicle in the parking lot.

They identified the suspect as Eric Raymond.

Through a warrant check, police found that Raymond was in violation of his 24 hour curfew which was one of many violations of his conditions of release.
He was released from custody three days prior to this incident from Northwest State Correctional Facility for a previous violation of conditions of release and operating a motor vehicle after license suspended.

Police say he is facing multiple charges including accessory to assault and robbery, vehicle operation after license suspended, possession of narcotics, burglary, reckless endangerment, careless or negligent operation, leaving the scene of a crash with damage resulting, and aggravated operation without owner’s consent.
