FAYSTON — A 16-year-old Huntington man crashed into a telephone pole to avoid a deer on Mill Brook Road in Fayston on Friday.

Police responded to the area of 2535 Mill Brook Road for a report of a vehicle that hit a telephone pole at around 5:40 p.m.

The crash caused a power line to go down in the roadway.

A section of Mill Brook Road was shut down until Green Mountain Power could arrive and remove the line.

Police say the driver swerved to avoid hitting the animal and went off the road and struck the pole, causing it to fall.

Green Mountain Power replaced the damaged pole and the section of Mill Brook Road was completely opened later that night.
