CALAIS — A 35-year-old man is facing charges after police say he left the scene of an accident in Calais last Thursday.

The crash took place on Pekin Brook Road at around 9:10 a.m.

The report was made to police by one of the drivers, Philip Chartier, 63, of Barre.

Chartier told police that he was rear-ended by a motorist who failed to exchange information and left the scene.

Following an investigation, police say that Scott Germaine, of Calais, was the driver who rear-ended Chartier, causing damage to both vehicles.

Germaine was cited to appear in court on February 27 to answer to the charge.
