Man facing charges after high-speed police chase in Waterbury

WATERBURY — A 26-year-old Westford man is facing multiple charges following an incident in Waterbury on Friday.

Police say they observed a black BMW traveling south on Interstate 89 at an excessive rate of speed at around 7:29 p.m.

The vehicle subsequently accelerated to speeds in excess of 130 miles-per-hour and a police pursuit ensued.

The Montpelier Police Department assisted in the pursuit along with the Berlin Police Department.

Police identified the driver as Alexander T. Seagrovers, and police terminated the pursuit a short time later.

Seagrovers was apprehended later by the Burlington Police Department and lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility.
He was issued a citation to appear in court today to answer the charges of DLS-C, attempting to elude a police officer, grossly negligent operation, excessive speed, criminal threatening, aggravated assault.
