EAST MONTPELIER — Two residents of Barre were charged with unlawful mischief following an incident in East Montpelier back in October.

On October 29, police were notified of a report of vandalism to a wooden statue on Vermont Route 14.

Following an investigation, police say that Michael Jenkins, 29, and Benjamin Currier, 32, had caused damage to the property of James LaCourse of East Montpelier, by kicking over the statue.

Jenkins and Currier were issued citations to appear in court on January 28 to answer to the charge.
