Police: Driver facing multiple charges following crash in Williamstown

WILLIAMSTOWN — A 23-year-old man is facing multiple charges following an incident that took place in Williamstown yesterday.

Authorities were alerted to a crash on Meadow Street at around 5:50 p.m.

Police say they interviewed numerous witnesses when they arrived.

Following an investigation, police allege that Scott R. Emerson, of Williamstown, had driven his vehicle in a negligent manner before crashing into a guard rail and then leaving the scene.

Police say a DMV record check indicated that Emerson had a criminally suspended license.

He was issued a criminal citation to appear in court for the charges of leaving the scene of an accident, negligent operation, false reports to law enforcement, and driving criminally suspended and he was released.
