Police: Man caught trafficking cocaine at Montpelier-Berlin station

BERLIN — A 32-year-old Massachusetts man was arrested for possession of cocaine on an Amtrak train yesterday evening.

Authorities say they were conducting an investigation of narcotics trafficking from the Amtrak train in Berlin.

They identified a suspect as Edward Austin, of Springfield, MA.

Police made contact with Austin and found that he possessed 38.7 grams of cocaine base.

He was transported to the state police for processing and is being held on $20,000 bail at the Barre City Police Department.
