MARSHFIELD — The uncle of a Marshfield man who has been on the run from police for five days is facing charges after he allegedly helped his nephew elude capture, police say.
During continued investigation and search efforts for Harley Breer on Tuesday, members of the Vermont State Police arrested an uncle of Breer on suspicion of helping the fugitive.
Earle Rogers, 62, of Marshfield, is facing charges of accessory after the fact, and false information to law enforcement.
State police allege Rogers allowed Breer to spend several nights at his home while on the run, and unsuccessfully attempted to provide money to his nephew.
Rogers was arrested at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at his home in Marshfield.
Meanwhile, the state police search for Breer remains active and ongoing.
The 51-year-old is accused of assaulting a neighbor on Folsom Hill Road on Friday evening before taking off.
