Waitsfield woman charged after stealing 39 political signs

WARREN — A 50-year-old Waitsfield woman was charged after allegedly stealing political campaign signs in Warren on Saturday.

Police say they were tipped off that a woman was stealing political campaign signs at around 1:10 p.m.

While patrolling the area, police say the suspects vehicle was located and stopped for a moving violation.

The driver was identified as Margaret Gile.

Police say she admitted to taking the political signs and say they recovered 39 political signs from various campaigns.

Gile was issued a citation and released to appear in court to answer for the charge of petit larceny.

Anyone from the Warren area who had political signs taken during the afternoon of Sunday is being asked to contact Trooper Casey Ross at 249-9191.
